About the Textile Association

The Textile Association (India) established in the year 1939 is the foremost leading and largest National professional body of Indian textiles, having more than 23000 strong membership and 26 chapters covering all over India. It has been providing guidance and services of various kinds to the Textile Industry over last 75 years.

After the grand success of 70 National All India Textile conferences, 3 Asian Textile Conferences, World Textile Conference 2011 and very successful first-ever overseas 1st Global Textile Congress recently concluded during 13th to 15th February, 2015 at Bangkok, Thailand, TAI is organizing 2nd Global Textile Congress with the support of Indonesia Textile Institute during 13th to 15th May, 2016 at Jakarta, Indonesia. This mega event will be indeed 2nd of its kind, being held outside the Indian shores to play leading role and to enhance its global image. TAI has played a very significant role in Indian textile industry which is recognized by industry leaders and Government agencies.

About the 1st Global Textile Congress 2015 – Bangkok

The Textile Association (India) conducted very successfully first truly International Conference in Bangkok, Thailand on 14th, 15th & 16th February 2015. Very successfully attended by more than 600 delegates from 18 countries and more than 50 speakers from 14 countries deliberated on very wide range of issues including Technical Industry Textiles, General Management, legal & HR etc.

Conference was inaugurated by Industries Minister of Government of Kingdom of Thailand H.E. Chakramon Phasukavanich, consented to be the Chief Guest for the inaugural session along with H.E. Harsh Vardhan Sringla, Honorable Ambassador of India to Thailand. Conference was very widely appreciated in International Textile Circles.

About the Global Textile Congress 2016 – Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia is the new destination selected by The Textile Association (India) for next GTC. Indonesia has come up very large Textile producing country and catering to large segment of Global population with high quality textiles.   Indonesia also has very established high quality production facilities for Textile Industry.

GTC 2016 will focus on manufacturing strength of Textile Industry in Far East including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Korea & Japan etc. and there would be lot of deliberations by speakers from all these countries who will speak on variety of subjects as mentioned in next page. Indonesia has very large and successful textile industry and therefore lot of local industrialist will be invited to speak on their strength on local industry.

Global Textile Congress 2016 would be again truly international conference which would be three days congress will address various issues pertaining to the textile industry globally.

We will have eminent Global Speakers from all over the world and we planned to invite people from 20 countries or so.   Also efforts will be made to invite from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, USA, Australia, South Africa &, Bangladesh in addition to the speakers invited for 1st Global Textile Congress, Thailand, in order to make bigger success and to bring more issues of Global Textile Industry on our platform. There will be speakers’ sessions and panel discussions.

This will also provide an opportunity to the global participants to get an insight about the international textile scenario of various countries which in turn will highly benefit to textile industry across the world. Most of the participants will also have an opportunity to meet buyers and sellers from all over the world for their requirements to meet global challenges and boost the exports.

During Conference there will be an exhibition of Textile Machinery & Accessories and the catalogue Show which will attract the participants to deal for their requirements with the exhibitors.

The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, India established in 1933 was most popularly known as UDCT.
